Nestled safely inside the walls of Villa Bougainvillea, surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers, lies Casa De La Mariposa, House of the Butterfly, "Your Place in the Shade". You can relax in our gardens on one of the benches while watching the many squirrels, birds and butterflies, lounge in our comfy hammock, or just sit & enjoy the large fountain. Rest, relax, and enjoy our little piece of the paradise that is Costa Rica.

Our beautiful Spanish-style house has large bedrooms that have been carefully equipped with everything you will need during your recovery period. There are physician recommended electrical hospital beds in every room to help keep you in just the right positions to promote healing and ease your way in and out of bed. We have provided memory foam mattresses for your added comfort and sanitized sheets and beddings. This ensures a healthy germ free environment that is so necessary during your recovery. Each room comes equipped with a 20 inch LCD TV/DVD player, English-speaking cable TV, and wireless high-speed access for your laptop, mini-refrigerators, free bottled water and telephones with a local line as well as a free USA line. All our rooms come with a comfortable second bed for anyone who may accompany you. The baths are large, beautiful, have plenty of hot water and are equipped with safety bars.

There is a common area that has a big 34 inch LCD TV/DVD combo, a computer for your use with high-speed internet and a huge library of books, DVD's and games.

You will have your own personal aide who will assist you with all the activities of daily living. Laundry service is also provided. There will be certain limitations imposed by your doctor and we encourage your complete compliance. Our staff is here to help you in every way possible to ensure your safety and complete recovery. We will "reach" for that jacket, "lift" your purse off the floor and help you "pull" whatever needs pulling. These are some of the little things that you need to be careful about and it is our pleasure to help you. You just need to remember to ask.

"Mi casa es su casa". You are welcome to enjoy the graciously appointed living room or the beautiful patio just outside the French doors. You may want to wander into the kitchen for a snack, or just for some conversation. Our relaxed atmosphere promotes your independence and provides a feeling of home.
